After a slip and fall (flat on my back) in parking lot at work my wife bought me a pair of Yaktrax. I used them for a four mile walk on ice covered sidewalks without a slip.

I am 83, and have used the Yaktrax for two winters. I walked three miles on ice and snow without a slip. They are excellent on ice. However, here is a caveat. Do NOT wear them in stores or on indoor floors. You will zip and fall! While I have used them for two winters, not that often, both have broken down. One on the side strap, and the other on the coils. Given that they have 'saved' me from serious falls, and allowed me to get out for needed items when I could not drive, I am grateful.

You have to know that I have tried several different "kinds" of ice traction cleats, and most feel very "Clumsy & Unnatural", but not the YaxTrax. These are the most stable and natural feeling that I have found. Believe me, I will never again crawl from the house to the garage on my hands and knees! For those who are afraid of the price.... what's the cost of a broken bone with casts and physical therapy? These are THE ONLY ones I will wear.

After slipping on a small patch of ice and hurting my back the first of December, I ordered these for me and all my loved ones here in the frozen North. Little did I know that two months later we were to get the worst sleet storm in our history. The ice was 3 inches thick and covered everything. Everyone is using their YakTrax and thanking me. Thanks YadTrax for an excellent product!

I absolutely love Yaktrax. I will never step on ice again without them. My husband is sold on them as well. As he was leaving for work it was very icy and I asked him to please put on his YAKTRAX. Being stubborn, he carried them in his hands, stepped outside and down he went. He then put on the YAKTRAX and walked on the ice like a pro!

I bought a pair for myself and my sister for Christmas and we both love them. We've had such a bad winter here with snow and lots of ice so they have come in very handy. I have a fear of falling on the ice, and the Yaktrax have given me more confidence as I negotiate the ice and slop we have this winter.

While they provide very good traction, one of the coils broke on the second use followed by the rubber it was attached to. I hope other users have better luck as this one might have been defective. I have requested a replacement.

All fear of ice is gone - it's liked your glued. These things make you feel like you're walking on summer ground, no kidding. I lost mine and came out online to buy another pair. I picked up these lousy imitations, which use screws as cleats and they don't even remotely compare. I've never slipped once in them, even jumping up and down on sheer ice in them. You can run and not slip (but I wouldn't recommend it - I'm just telling you I tried it and it works).

I have tried the Yaks and find them quite helpful on snow or ice. This winter in Minn. , they are helpful. I have knee replacements and certainly do not want to fall. I would recommend them to anyone in need.

No matter what the weather, when a dog's gotta go, a dog's gotta go. More exercise makes both my dog and me happier winter and summer, so we walk all year round. Our town clears the sidewalks of snow, but leaves behind a very uncertain and icy surface. I am so much safer with Yaktrax! I don't hesitate to give my doggy a walk in any weather.

| I had hip replaced October. Did not want to take a hard slip even if it did not result in a fall. Purchased Yaktrax Walker just in case. We got several inches of snow over ice and I went out to help a couple neighbors. No problem walking and no slipping.
Highly recommend these for those that have had knee or hip replacement and want to be able to go out without fear. Also for those that must work night shifts or must go out in snowy/icy weather.
